Migrating to Internext for free

Switching hosts sounds stressful, but it doesn't have to be. When you move to Internext, our team does the heavy lifting for you — free of charge. We copy your files, databases and mailboxes from your current host, test the new copy privately, and only go live once you've confirmed everything looks right. Your existing site stays online the whole time, so visitors and customers keep seeing your website while the move happens behind the scenes.

Step 1 — Tell us about your site

Message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected] with your domain name and the name of your current host. We'll ask a few quick questions — is it a WordPress site, does it use a database, how many email accounts — so we can plan the move properly.

Step 2 — Share access with us

To copy everything accurately, we need access to your old hosting. The easiest option is your old host's cPanel login, or a full cPanel backup file. If cPanel isn't available, FTP plus database credentials also work. Our full checklist is in what we need to migrate your site.

Step 3 — We copy everything to the new server

Internext copies your website files, all MySQL databases, and every email account to your new server exactly as they were. WordPress, Joomla, custom PHP sites, static HTML — all transfer intact, including images, plugins and settings. Your mailboxes and their contents come across too, so nobody loses old email.

Step 4 — Test on a temporary URL

Before anything changes for your visitors, we open your migrated site on a temporary preview URL or via a local hosts-file trick. You (and we) click through pages, forms and the shopping cart to confirm it all works on the new server. Your live website is untouched during this stage.

Step 5 — Switch DNS when you approve

Once you're happy, we point your domain to Internext by updating the nameservers or DNS records. Because the site is already tested and ready, the change is seamless. Global DNS propagation can take a few hours, during which some visitors still see the old server and others the new one — but both are identical, so there's no visible interruption.

What happens to my email during the move?

All your mailboxes are recreated on the new server and existing messages are copied over. After the DNS switch, mail is delivered to Internext. We can also help you reconnect Outlook, Apple Mail or your phone afterwards.
