Pointing your domain to your hosting

When someone types your domain into a browser, DNS tells them which server to load your website from. To make your domain show your Internext-hosted site, you point it at our servers. There are two methods — updating your nameservers (recommended for most people) or updating the A record to your server IP. Both are done at your domain registrar, not in cPanel.

First — find your nameservers and server IP

Everything you need is in your Internext welcome email: two nameservers (they look like ns1.internextllc.com and ns2.internextllc.com) and your server IP address (a number like 178.63.251.145). Keep the email handy. Lost it? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll resend it.

Method A — Update your nameservers (recommended)

This hands all of your DNS to Internext so we manage your website and email records automatically in cPanel.

1. Log in to your registrar — where you bought the domain (GoDaddy, Namecheap, your local UAE registrar, etc.).
2. Open your domain's Nameservers or DNS management settings.
3. Choose custom nameservers and replace the existing entries with the two Internext nameservers from your welcome email.
4. Save the change.

Method B — Update the A record (advanced)

Use this only if you need to keep DNS hosted somewhere else (for example at Cloudflare) and just want the website to load from Internext.

1. In your DNS provider, open the DNS records for your domain.
2. Edit the A record for the root (the host shown as @ or your bare domain) so its value is your server IP address.
3. If you use www, make sure it points to the root as well (a CNAME to your domain, or a matching A record).
4. Save the records.

DNS propagation — what to expect

DNS changes aren't instant. They typically take effect within an hour or two, and can take up to 24 to 48 hours to update everywhere in the world. During this window some visitors may already see your new site while others still see the old one — this is normal and resolves on its own. You don't need to change anything while you wait.

Nameservers for most people: it lets Internext manage all your DNS (website and email) automatically in cPanel. Use an A record only if your DNS must stay hosted elsewhere.

How long until my domain works?

Usually an hour or two, and up to 24–48 hours to fully propagate worldwide. Once it resolves, you can reach yourdomain.com/cpanel directly.

Where are my nameservers and IP?

In your welcome email. If you can't find it, message us and we'll resend it or point the domain for you.
