Restoring from a daily backup

Internext takes daily off-server backups of every account, so if a change goes wrong or a site breaks, you can roll your files or database back to a previous day in minutes.

Mistakes happen — a bad plugin update, an accidental deletion, or a change that broke something. That is exactly what backups are for. Internext keeps daily off-server backups of every hosting account, meaning your copies are stored on separate infrastructure and stay safe even if something happens to the main server. This guide shows the different ways to restore.

Before you restore: if you are unsure what caused the problem, take a quick note or copy of the current state first. A restore replaces current data with the older version, so you want to be sure of your restore point.

Step 1 — Log in to cPanel

Open your cPanel dashboard using the link and details in your Internext welcome email. If you need a refresher, see how to log in to cPanel.

Step 2 — Open the backup tool

Under the Files section of cPanel, look for JetBackup or the Backup / Backup Wizard icon. JetBackup is the easiest option because it lets you browse each day's backup and restore with a single click.

Step 3 — Choose what to restore

You do not have to restore everything. Pick just the part you need:

  • Files — restore your whole home directory or drill down to a single folder or file.
  • Database — restore one MySQL database to a previous day, useful for WordPress and other CMS content.
  • Full account — roll the entire account (files, databases, email and settings) back to a chosen date.

Step 4 — Pick the restore date and run it

  1. Select a day from before the problem started.
  2. Choose the files, database or full backup you want to bring back.
  3. Confirm the restore and let it finish — larger sites take a little longer.
Prefer we do it? Message our Dubai-based support team on WhatsApp or email [email protected] with your domain and the date to restore to, and we'll handle it for you.

Step 5 — Test after restoring

Once the restore completes, always load your website and check the important pages, contact forms and any logins. If you restored a WordPress site, confirm the admin area at wp-admin works and that recent changes are as expected.

Keep your own backups too

Our daily backups are a strong safety net, but it is always wise to keep your own periodic copy — especially before a big change like a redesign or a major plugin update. You can download a full backup any time from the cPanel Backup tool and store it somewhere safe.

Frequently asked

How far back can I restore?

Internext keeps several days of daily off-server backups. You can restore to any available day shown in JetBackup; for an older point, contact support.

Can I restore just one file or database?

Yes. The backup tools let you restore an individual file, folder, a single database or the full account, so you recover only what you need.
